New Releases: What upcoming games are you looking forward to?
So I've owned this game a long time...but only recently did come up with my review
Basically, playing as the Adept Rogue Haseo gave me some satisfaction but still let me down.
.hack// has been wonderful gameplay all around, graphic have always been beautiful and only gotten better, and story rocks.
However, it limits your options, in the first four titles, you play as Kite, a Twin Blade, and in GU you play as Haseo, a man toting dual daggers, a flameberge, a scythe, and then later Dual Guns.
Sadly...I'd like to play as a Long Arm in Kite's games and a Tribal Grappler in Haseo's, but the game doesn't let me...
Thus minus 1 star
However...Gameplay Rocks, Haseo can use any of his obtained weapons, and Kite before him could purposefully weaken enemies...
Then the party system really picks it up when you add different classes...
Whats even more fun is the status ailments are deep yet understandable...resulting in a full-tie simulated MMO that plays beautifully
My main beef with GU is PKs, or as I like to say, MUDERERs are all too common, in fact over half of GU, 1 2. and 3 is played in a PK Arena, where over half the fights are very dark and murderously toned.
Again minus one star for support of mass murdering with impunity...
However battling the monsters could be classified as such murdering but, I feel killing monsters is different than killing a Human, after all, those monsters attack you first, so you defend yourself, whereas PKing you assault the nearest player, without asking...
The monster fights are immensely fun...various monsters have abilities that either render tem unlaunchable, physically immune but mystically damageable, and even more than those...
Still I feel it could be more fun if they'd allow you to pick your class...
However: the simulated MMO side of the game makes a reasonable excuse, so while am dissatisfied, I am not too unhappy,
.hack// GU Vol3 gets a 3 of 5...a good game, worth the money paid to buy it, but lacks customization capabilities.
